1) Content of film
must be halal. This means, but is not limited to, no references or innuendoes
to sexuality, vulgar language, drug use, any sort of racist or derogatory
dialogue.
2) Islamic attire
must be observed by both males and females.
3) Films must be
handled by MSA members, however, there is no rule defining whether or not non-MSA
members may involved in the films. Anyone interested in taking part is fine, as
long as they abide by the guidelines.
4) Submitted films
must be in their final edited form and burned into DVD format on a DVD-R, with
the name of the film, group leader, and school name labeled on the disc.
5) Each school will
be given an allotted 20 minutes in which they are able to show as many movies as
they wish in that time period. It is the task of each chapter of MSA to remove
any movies that take them past the 20 min time limit.
6) The final
deadline to submit screened films to the University of Michigan-Dearborn Muslim
Students Association will be March 26, 2010. Any entries after this date will
not be considered for the event.
7) Each MSA will
also be allowed to create their own trailer for their chapter. These trailers
are part of the 20 min time limit.
8) Submitted films
may be any genre.
9) All films, from
every chapter, will be sent to a neutral screening committee to ensure that
nothing was missed. This committee will be responsible for piecing together all
the films and deciding the order of the program. The neutral screening committee
will consist of selected members from each organization. |
