Joint E-Board Meeting

Subject:   Co-Sponsored Summer Picnic

I.                   Opening Du’a/Sura

II.               Brainstorming

A.      Concerns:

a.       Sr. Hinid Elomari (msa-wsu) – concerns from some of the sisters who attended the 2005 picnic about the lack of events for sisters

1.      maybe next year the picnic can be at Kensington Park or Stony Creek so there can be more activities and privacy for the sisters

B.      Timing of Event:

a.       Setup will be at 10 or 11 am

b.      Event begins 1 pm

 

C.      Food:

a.       Last year:

                                                                           i.      100 each à hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken

b.      This year:

                                                                           i.      Approximately 200-250 of each is needed

1.      hamburgers, hotdogs, and chicken

c.       TMA sisters, Nawal Al Saeed and Zeinab Chami, will be taking care of the food responsibilities

                                                                           i.      Menu: hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken

                                                                         ii.      Hummus

                                                                        iii.      Salad

                                                                       iv.      Condiments and desserts

 

d.      BBQ Grills:

                                                                           i.      Every organization should bring at least TWO grills

 

 

III.            Activities

A.      Inflatable

a.       Possible ideas = moonwalk, obstacle course, slide…

b.      Cost may be anywhere from $200-$300 (maybe more)

c.       Hodhaifa, MSA-UMD, needs to contact the part to find out if we need to get insurance or not for the inflatable

                                                                           i.      If needed cost will be around $70

B.      Other Activities:

a.       Volleyball

b.      Football

C.      Activity Committee

a.       Br. Zeshahn Humayun, Br. Hodhaifa Kouider, and Sr. Salmiyeh Karamali

 

 

IV.              Advertising

A.      PRs of each organization should get together and work out ideas

a.       Working on the flyers/postcards

b.      Generating a list of mosques in which to advertise
