Meeting Agenda May 22, 2006

1.      Opening Du'a by Zeshahn

 

2.      Community Service

§         May 20 – Blight Busters. Went well

 

3.      MI Council

§         Had a meeting Sunday May 21.

§         Discussed possible structure for the council

·         From each school possibly have 2 representatives who do not have to be eboard members

·         Each school will have 1-2 votes

·         The chair for the meeting will alternate. The chair would be a member from the host of school for that day

 

4.      Central Zone Conference

§         Proposal due May 30

§         Ramy will look into the Double Tree as a location for the event.

§         Shan and Maher will be getting an estimate for where we can get the food. Possible providers:

·         Annas

·         Mangos

·         No to Basha

·         Greenfield

·         Golden

·         Bellacino

·         Station

·         Hameedo

§         Shawrmas, subs, and pizzas

 

5.      Al-Maghrib

§         Fliers have been distributed around campus.

§         Need a representative at the event with the paperwork.

§         Need to talk to them to possibly get a discount.

§         Cost: $165 – too high

§         Need to send out an e-mail.

§         Ayman will talk to them tomorrow.

 

6.      Finance

§         Need to check the Charter One account daily

§         School account:

·         Deposited $1,400 last Friday for the Al-Maghrib charges

·         G-Next bill won’t be charged until next month.

·         Need to deposit money into the account.

§         Pledges

·         Hodhaifa has the letter typed up and will e-mail it to Ramy for editing

·         Inshallah will send it out by the end of this week

·         Before mailing the letters out need to make a spreadsheet to keep track of who has been contacted

 

7.      Jummah

§         Last week went well – at the end there were about 20 people who came.

·         Started at 1:45 – start earlier

·         Contacted a brother from IAU to send someone over for this week

(1)   Need to start planning for the upcoming weeks

 

8.      IT

§         Mentioned the photo gallery and the ratings for the pictures and the amount of the pictures being viewed

 

9.      Picnic

§         July 15 with TMA and Wayne State

§         Starting to plan in the next two weeks

§         Need for grills

§         Last Year:

·         Bishr: Burgers, Hot Dogs

·         Haggerty Meat: Chicken

§         Maybe getting meat from Al-Saad Meats for 250 and Sheish Tawook

§         Sports: Soccer, football, volleyball

 

10. Ramadan Task Force

§         Have a committee

§         Need to have a meeting with Vice Chancellor Henderson

§         Possible people:

·         Getting Discounts
