General Body Meeting

1. Opening Du'a by Maher

2. Central Zone

§ Feedback – good conference

· Food

¨ Good on Saturday night

¨ Bad lunch on Saturday

¨ Way too much food ordered (people went out to eat)

· Lectures

¨ Dr. Jackson’s lecture was good however it was in the morning

� Should have been Saturday evening (when everyone was there)

¨ Lectures started too early in the morning – low attendance for those

¨ Needed diversity of speakers

¨ Better selection on lectures (more variety needed)

¨ Over planned – video conference where that wasn’t needed

¨ Lectures back to back

· Volunteer

¨ From volunteers standpoint it was unorganized

¨ Chairs taking volunteers from other committees

¨ Scheduled meetings but they never happened

· Entertainment – not good

§ 580 people came

§ Next Saturday April 14

§ Tickets

· Aim to sell 200 tickets

· Most planning is done just need to work on the ticket sales

· Want to sell 20 tickets each day

· Purpose

¨ Parent appreciation and inauguration of new e-board

¨ Presentation on while year where the money went

¨ Small fundraising

· Have Sheikh Musa or Imam Salie go up for a few minutes

· Power Point – taken care of

· Entertainment

¨ Jeopardy

� Have a twist to incorporate all the audience

¨ Competition between the tables
Kenan and Hodhaifa will be up there for 5 minutes

� Why you like MSA

� Have to have it planned

¨ Videos

� Planning not to show any of the ones from film festival

� Could show Kenan and Shans

¨ Could play a game “who wants to donate”

¨ “Whose line is it”

§ Need to get

· Stage, projector, screen, microphone and audio

¨ Projector: Try to get from LIFE

¨ Screen: Hany might have otherwise we can use a white sheet

· Flowers by Rene – Hany is responsible for 25 tables

§ Volunteers –

· Registration and greeters

· Food will be self serve (need people to watch it lines)

· Mohammed Al-Saadi – food pick up

· Adnan Ahmed – look for dessert prices

§ Food

· Rice and lamb, salad and hummus

· Menu seems too simple

· Have broiled chicken or add another dish: steamed vegetables, stir fried vegetables

· 3 dishes too boring – add another dish

· Have rice, broiled chicken (with a little sauce), vegetables, hummus and salad

4. Film Festival

§ Offensive on MSA’s Standards – some parts were inappropriate – need to consider the audience

§ In rules have to make a disclaimer

§ Need to be more careful in the screening
