Unity in Diversity Dinner Planning

1.      Opening Du'a by Maher

13 Days left for the dinner. GET HYPED

 

2.      Program

§          6:00 Invitation time

§          6:30 is when we will tell the VIPs and Chancellors the dinner starts

§          6:30 – MC Introduction (3 minutes)

·          Not going to be the comedian Mohammad Amer

·          Last year we had Muhi and Nadia and also 4 moderators, lets not do that this yea

·          Came up with a list of moderators

¨        Brothers: Mohammad Bukhatami or Maher

¨        Sisters: Rania or Sofi Begg

§          6:34 – Quranic Recitation & Translation (5 minutes)

·          Recitation: Yousef Salum (from Ann Arbor) or Usama Khalid

·          Translation: Huda Fahmy

§          6:40 – Presidents Address (3 minutes)

§          6:44 – Chancellor Little – Brief Remarks

§          6:52 – MC talk about prayer and the food

§          6:53 – Usama Khalid give Athan (if not doing Quranic recitation)

§          6:55 – MC announce first prayer

§          7:00 – 1st Prayer

§          7:10 – 2nd Prayer, Group 1 gets served

§          7:20 – Group 2 gets served

§          7:39 – MC gets on stage and introduces Christian speaker

§          7:40 – Christian speaker

§          7:50 – MC introduces Jewish speaker

§          7:51 – Jewish speaker

§          8:01 – MC introduces Muslim speaker

§          8:12 – MC introduces sponsors

§          It is happening around the Masjids

·          Make sure to include sponsors

·          Shan needs to send out emails every Sunday

·          Maher needs to send out emails every Thursdays

·          Suhaib Hanooti needs to send out emails every few days to all the lists he is part of

 

5.      Hodhaifa

§          Need to reserve lobby for prayer

§          VIPS – different levels, assign tables. Inform them they only have a minute to talk

§          Will talk to Kroger about the pop. Need 250 bottles

§          Find out if we can use painters tape and electrical tape

§          Need to make sponsorship banners and PowerPoint

 

6.      Ayman

§          Email speakers the program

 

7.      Nousseiba

§          Check prices for paper products, aluminum trays, burners, serving utensils,

·          Paper product – iftar plates, dinner plates, dessert plates, cups, tea cups, forks, spoons, knives

§          Table covers colors and prices

 

8.      Hany

§          Flowers – talk to Flowers by Renι (on Warren)

·          Flowers for the centerpieces (need about 85-170), for the stage (2) and boutonniθres

 

9.      Rania

§          Make registration cards, suggestion cards and donation envelopes

 

10. Ramy

§          Will talk to Bishr for the Sambusas

 

11. Maher

§          Make music CD to play during the event

¨        Need to have a main vegetarian dish

¨        Don’t have nuts in the rice

·          Get rid of ground beef and get a vegetarian dish
