General Body Meeting

1. Opening Du'a by Rania

2. Education

§ Circles

· Monday/Tuesday

· Wil have people sign up and then they will decide topics and a time good for them

· Plan to cover a book and after people read it they will get a scholar to discuss it with them and answer any questions they might have

· For each circle there will be an appointed head

¨ Each head will meet up with Shafi to comeup with a schedule

· Will be split

· Starting in 2 weeks at around 3:30

3. On-Campus

§ Social – February 1

· Activities: dodgeball, volleyball and basketball

¨ Did not get the ice rink

· Food: Halal Pizza – Pizza (25 boxes) and wings (3/person = 240 wings)

¨ Food costs $202

· Advertising

¨ Fliers and banner are made, just need to go around campus and flier it up

� Sharif and Amal will help out

¨ Cost $25

· There will be a curtain up so no one can see in the sisters’ court. Will also make a sign.

· Someone will bringing twister for the sisters’ side

§ Pistons Game – Next Friday

· 11 people paid, a bunch of people reserved and 5 are untouched

· Will be in the same row

· If people do not pay by Monday then they lose their spot to go to the game

¨ Sharif will send out an email that should go out by Saturday morning

§ Film Festival

· Send out another email about it.

§ Community Service

· Next one is suppose to be Saturday February 17 – location tba

¨ Try to have it on a Sunday – might be easier for people to come

4. Central Zone

§ It is last weekend in March, March 30 – April 1

§ Will be on Dearborn Campus, Fairlane Center

§ Registration has begun - $40 for locals, $15 off if you are volunteering

· Dearborn Campus is in charge of food and site, sign up

5. Outreach

§ Dawah

· People signed up for Ask a Muslim

¨ Will be a 1 day all day event

¨ Wednesday or Thursday February 14/15

· Valentine Day – “Love in Islam

§ Jummah

· Population decreasing – we should do something about it

· Put jummah signs up in the different building throughout campus

· Use the Science building board

6. MISC

§ No meeting next week because of the social

§ Islamic Classes

· The professors who teach it are biased – should do something about it

· Members will talk to the professors first if that doesn’t workout then we will move up the ladder to try to improve the classes
